Sadam Hanjabam is Founder Director, Ya_All is a queer and allies youth network based in Imphal. He is a PhD scholar at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Sadam has been through a lot of crisis & confronting life death situation multiple times. He was also in continuous lapse of substance usage in his past.
However, He did overcome his challenges and has been vulnerably sharing his own story of recovery which resonated with many queer persons who couldn't access and afford care and support. That's how he created a community for youth to support young minds. Ya-All has created an phenomenal space for youth who could find many forms of sports and creativity side of themselves beyond identity.
YA_ALL is the first registered youth and LGBTQI+ focused organization in the northeast, bridging the gap between mainstream queer movements. Through a crowdfunding initiative, YA_ALL raised funds to support more than 2000 families with food, medicine, and mental health support, making it to the list of 10 Global Initiatives led by youth and queer persons fighting COVID by Youth Envoy of the United Nations in May 2020.
He was recently featured in Documentary - The Me You Can't See on Apple TV, produced by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry, which got released on May 21, 2021. The official trailer of the series is in the link below :
