Hello, Barbara. Thanks for receiving me. So, first, what do you do in life? And what led you  to do that?

Barbara

Well, so now I am director of an high school, Singelijn. And before I was teacher, I was teacher for the primary, five and six years. And after I will study a new new courses and like I went to university at UCL, and I learned psychology of education. And when I finished that I want to do a new challenge in my life, and I begin here, like a teacher of “différencié” , and very fast.

I become directors, adjuncts, and now I am the director of the school.

Marin

Okay, and what made you wanted to become a teacher? Was it because you like to give your knowledge or because you like to be around kids and to have an impact on their life.

Barbara

I think that I love kids, I love kids and I love relationship with with kids. And the thing I'm thinking that have an impact of the life and speaking with, like, you know, I'm not speaking English very well, but you asked me to, to do something for your course. And I say, Okay, I do. I don't know. Yet. It's it's very funny, to share something with children and now  with adults. And I think, for that, I love my job.

Marin

Okay, interesting. And is there some downsides to being a teacher or being the director of a school?

Barbara

Every works, Every Yeah, every works have downside. And now what it's very difficult, it's too. So it's difficult to evolve with the point of view of all people have children, because when you are a teacher or director or when you learn something, you have to be a model and who I am, it's not very the model I have to do because I am in representation of my job. It's difficult because today it's very important and very rich. Everyone's think different. And i have to speak and to explain thing and take all the parts of everyone to explain that.

Marin

Okay, I see. Thank you for your answers. I'm running out of time, so

Barbara

Oh, great. And sorry for my English

Marin

It was a pleasure.
