In this episode of Intentionally Act Now, Filipino-American and practitioner-scholar for equity and inclusion, Liza Talusan, PhD, joins Enrico E. Manalo, Chief of Learner Success of All Aces, Inc., to explore the meaning, history and realities of anti-Blackness and Asian American identity. in the present moment. Both Enrico and Liza draw on their own experiences as BIPOC who are often presented by many as the “model minority”—an idea that is firmly rooted in anti-Blackness and white supremacy culture.
Together they discuss how dealing with their own internalized racism is something that is often deeply uncomfortable, yet essential for everyone to confront, embrace, and resolve in order for racial equity to be advanced.
