The term prophet is greatly misunderstood my many and though it MAY be able to see futures events, but that depends on the will of God and is incumbent on His design and His only. There were some that were able to see future events: Daniel, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Moses, Joseph and there are more in the list. Prophets are those that lean in and listen to God when He speaks and directs, then obey. When doing so, it is for the glory of God and not for self aggrandizement. His glory, His truth and for his purpose. We find that Jesus speaks of His being a prophet, and He is indeed; remember too that though Bering the only begotten son of God, He didn’t go into cities and form up parades in order to prophesy. Luke 4:24 is very clear and specific. Remember that the people of His town where he grew up were going to cast Him from the hill and more than likely throw stones in order to kill Jesus. He scaled there vision and walked away as His hour was not yet. Then we see His authority revealed in Capernum where the demons knew his authority and declared it aloud. Jesus made no pompous display, but merely went to the temple and His authority revealed. Remember this and it is very important. Satan and his demons KNOW scripture, they will try to disuade you by their misdirection and lies. Be wary and stay in prayer and whenever possible: pray in the spirit because that is the language of heaven and they cannot understand, you don’t either because we have not been glorified, but the Holy Spirit will give utterance and guide as in prophetic words.
