Hello friends in Jesus, Welcome… Hope you are enjoying 2 Minutes with the Lord.
Today Jesus teaches his disciples to pray. When you pray, do not heap empty phrases as the Gentiles. It must have been a practice during that time to speak with pagan gods using long sentences and words.
Jesus speaks in a simple manner about the Father who knows even before you ask. He goes to teach us the prayer that is dear to our heart. The Our Father. What is so special about this prayer?
Our Father in heaven: addressing our loving Father
Hallowed be thy name: His glorious name be holy always
Your Kingdom come: Let his reign come on us
Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven: We have to do God’s will in our life and proclaim his Kingdom.
Give us today our daily bread: We ask the Lord to care for our needs
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors: forgiving our sins and forgiveness for those who have hurt us. Our prayer should be one of forgiveness
Do not bring us to the test but deliver us from evil: Asking for grace from our father to resist evil and to protect us from dangers.
How do I pray to God? Long words and sentences or a simple prayer surrendering our life
Lord help us to forgive those who hurt us. Amen
