Hello friends in Jesus, we are in lockdown and the humanity around us continues to suffer. We pray for the people suffering around us.
Today Jesus sets out on the road of suffering, agony, pain and trial- The Road to Calvary. Walking on this road carrying a heavy cross on the shoulders, thorns on the head, soldiers beating and thrashing and Jesus yelling with excruciating pain. This picture comes to our minds today. It must have been a traumatic experience in reality.
Calvary being a place of nightmare and Jesus was taken there to be crucified on the cross. The nails being hit hard on his hands and legs. He was forcefully pinned on the cross. Jesus completes his earthly mission dying on the cross.
The death on the cross though shameful opens for Christians a greater promise of God that is victory over death in spite of pain and agony. The cross becomes a symbol of strength in those moments of desolation and distress when we have lost our hope. Our Saviour died on it to save us.
Today the world fights the pandemic Corona Virus, we are on the road of suffering, pain, agony and distress.
We are confused with our life, we feel disillusioned and hope seems far away. We have found no breakthroughs in medicine to save us for this pandemic. Our minds are filled with the suffering around us, many have lost their lives.
Just take some time to look at the cross and hang on….because God will make a way
Lord for the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world Amen.
