After the Calvary episode, there is calm and silence. We are mourning the death of our Lord and Saviour. We have hope in our hearts that Jesus will rise again.
As we await to celebrate, the greatest feast in the Church, which is primarily the foundation of Christian faith –The Easter
Secondly, when Jesus rose from the dead he guaranteed our resurrection too. This feast gives us eternal hope in Jesus our Redeemer and Lord.
We have many reasons to believe the resurrection of Jesus as debated and proved by many theologians, biblical scholars and historians about the empty tomb, the appearance of Jesus to his disciples and followers, the transformation in the disciples and the conversion of St. Paul and others.
Resurrection of Jesus changes everything for the disciples of Jesus. They begin to see new grounds to make known the message of Jesus to the world. It is a joyful experience to be in company with the Risen Lord.
Easter promises us that Jesus emerged victorious by defeating death. He will transform our lives if we hope in him. We renew our baptismal promises and remind ourselves of Jesus as light of the world when the Easter Candle is lit as we watch on television the online Mass.
Easter is hope in the everlasting eternal promises of our Lord who has shown us by his resurrection. Let the Risen Lord renew and transform the world. Amen
