Every Saturday evening, more than 300,000 people drift away to the sounds of reggae, calypso, jazz, blues, gospel, and Juju. Controlling the airwaves is well-known radio deejay and community activist Osei Terry Chandler.

Osei’s radio show, Roots Musik Karamu on South Carolina Public Radio, is one of the longest-running radio shows in the country. The show has had a stronghold on music lovers since 1979.
