Introducing the Living Inspired Podcast's first episode where we share our stories of what inspires us, how and why we started our businesses.
Dive into the lives of Cameron Munoz and Chanel Johnson, hosts of Living Inspired Podcast. We touch on Cameron's experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and its impact on her family. We discuss how people with ASD often experience challenges with sensory processing, including proprioception and vestibular senses. In this podcast we discuss the importance of self-regulation for individuals with ASD and how they often engage in "stimming" behaviors as a way to self-soothe and regulate their sensory experiences.
We also share about neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that affects the growth and development of nerve cells, leading to the formation of tumors on the nerves and hydrocephalus. Chanel's sister was diagnosed with this medical condition in which there is an excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain, leading to increased pressure on the brain. She shares the impact of living her sister with this condition.

Austism Spectrum Disorder: A developmental disability caused by differences in the brain.
Sensory processing: The organization of sensory information from the body and the external world that allows a person to interact effectively with their environment.
Proprioception: perception or awareness of the position and movement of the body.
Vestibular Sense: a complex sense concerned with the perception of bodily position and motion.
Stemming: the repetitive performance of certain physical movements or vocalizations, as a form of behavior by persons with Autism or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Bajan: a term used to refer to people or things from the Caribbean Island nation of Barbados.
