This week on Episode 92 of the #ReadswithRosaPodcast I sit down to talanoa with Pauline Fonua the creator of @thevisionboardofficial, a platform that inspires, shares knowledge, empowers folx and speaks existence into Pasifika Culture through limited edition t-shirts. Pauline shares the backstory of #VisionBoard and why the first shirt she made was ‘POLYNESIAN WOMEN ARE DOPE’, saying - ‘ᴘᴇᴏᴘʟᴇ ɴᴇᴇᴅᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴋɴᴏᴡ, ᴘᴏʟʏɴᴇꜱɪᴀɴ ᴡᴏᴍᴇɴ ɴᴇᴇᴅᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴋɴᴏᴡ’. She draws inspiration from literature from around Oceania and is an advocate who speaks out about issues such as climate change, indigenous solidarity, our relationship with the land and oceans, and #FreeWestPapua. We touch upon other subjects such as Education, Identity, Culture, Family, Academia and Representation, Capitalism and Stereotypes, and the importance of building community. Enjoy!
