Coco is a versatile and innovative multidisciplinary artist of Maori (Ngapuhi)/Samoan descent who hails from Tamaki Makaurau in Aotearoa. She is the author of How to Loiter in A Turf War, a Fulbright scholar, NZ Art Laureate, and the creator of the cult Maori cartoon Aroha Bridge. She has a wide range of screenwriting credits, heads the artist-led record label + production house Kuini Qontrol, and is a co-director of the Onehunga community space Wheke Fortress. Across all mediums, Coco strives to prioritize community collaboration, Oceanic narratives, wahine, LGBTQIA+ expression, and underground creatives of color.
