1. Know your why
2. Use Pseudonymns where possible or write in the third person as if sharing someone else's story
3. Notify key persons affected about your intent and portions if possible to preserve relationships
4. Beware of the effects on the involved individuals
5. Ask yourself for certain episodes that might be too personal or painful, if the story can survive without these portions
6. Focus on the reader and the message you are trying to convey; don't just journal
7. You can republish it if you feel it needs to be revised.
