There is lots of confusion amongst Christians (and the wider world) about what happens after we die. Evidenced in shows like “the good place” and “Upload” we see the common idea of a disembodied “soul” future that is worked out on the basis of merit in a “different” place. This is despite the New Testament offering a clear picture of what God intends for the future in the Empty Tomb. The empty tomb not only gives us a clue about what God intends, but it also shows us that it’s not about going somewhere else, but rather is about what God is going to do, and is doing, here on earth.
