As we enter the final prep for our book signing at the Nevada State Museum, we’re giving you (and us) a pep talk.
When we started this full-time writing gig a year ago, we knew we’d be riding a roller coaster of feelings, expectations, and disappointment. But golly, what a ride, especially in the last six months. The economy has not been our friend, and we’ve had to scale back plans and dreams accordingly.
Not scaled back: our belief in our colleagues and ourselves. April is Independent Writers Month, and more than ever, we need to pull together and lift each other up. This is one reason why we are partnering with the Sierra Arts Foundation. We hope to give indy writers another marketing platform to talk about themselves and their works.
Streets and buildings make a town, but it’s creative art that makes it a community, and writers are artists. Keep writing and keep believing in yourself. If you need strength, we’re happy to share some of ours. You got this!
