In today’s reading of Tyndale’s OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),
- Moses is on the Mountain with God for forty days and nights. During this time, God commits Moses to pass on to the people specific instructions concerning the ordination of the priests, daily sacrifices, the incense altar, required offerings, the washbasin, anointing oil, incense oil, and the craftsmen for the entire project. Because this is a huge project, God reminds Moses about the Sabbath.
- When God is finished speaking with Moses, and presumably he accurately records all of it, God engraves the Ten Commandments on two tablets of stone with His own finger. The framework terms for the covenant are permanently inscribed on stone. God must be worshiped rightly, and covenant members must be honored correctly.
