In today’s reading of Tyndale’s OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),
- The glory of God’s presence, the glory of the tabernacle, and God’s pleasure in the obedience of His people is reflected in the twelve tribe’s desire to make offerings of dedication for the altar of atonement. For twelve days, the entire community celebrates God’s provision for their forgiveness by providing utensils that will represent them in the daily worship practices of the tabernacle.
- God is accomplishing what He desires the most—dwelling with His image-bearers! He continues to speak with Moses. The people are a able to confess their sins to God. They see His manifest presence in the cloud and the fire. They bring offerings to God that He then appropriates for the provision of the Levites.
- No other nation on the earth experiences a worship that is alive! Idols fall and must be maintained by the people who created them. God, however hears His people, speaks to His people, and receives what His people bring Him.
