- This is exactly how the Septuagint translates this Hebrew verse into Greek. Judah was able to be stronger than his brothers. Judah, committing his life for the life of his brother Benjamin, looked more like the coming Messiah than all of his brothers—including Joseph. For this, Judah is awarded the Seed of Promise.
- The Messiah will come from Judah’s seed. This bizarre story of cat and mouse shows the Israelites in the wilderness how Judah became a leader worth following. He did what none of his brothers were willing to do. He puts his money where his mouth is.
