- Israel's response to God's past actions--His words, deeds, and revelations--have shockingly not penetrated the hearts, ears, and eyes of the people. God's present acts will have no effect either. Still, God speaks, acts, and reveals so that His covenant people may choose to obey Him. Because of all God provides them as a testimony of His goodness and the people's brokenness, future generations will not be able to wrongly evaluate their circumstances.
- In today's reading God orders His case against a stubborn and disobedient people. God will sovereignty administer His covenant in response to Israel's choices.
