In today’s reading of Tyndale’s OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),
- Jesus follows up the healing of the man who was blind from birth (in yesterday’s reading), with an appeal for the crowd to understand His goodness. Jesus is good and desires good for all people. The Pharisees, in contrast, do not love the people. Instead, they destroy the lives of others in order to temporarily improve their own lives.
- When asked to plainly state that He is the Messiah, Jesus tells the crowd that He has already told them. Some believe Him and some want to kill Him. Jesus’ love for the people is highlighted as He grieves over their heard-heartedness.
- Jesus also teaches the way His servants relate to the rich and poor in the Kingdom of God.
