- Herod and his advisors are completely incapable of understanding the events of their day because instead of seeking the kingdom of God, they were focused on protecting the power of their own kingdom.
- Jesus once again shows His compassion for people’s spiritual and physical needs and takes the opportunity to enroll the disciples in a sign of His character workshop.
- He shows the disciples that believing He is great is easy, but faith is forged in the work of believing that He is God.
