There are seeds of prioritizing likability & niceness that are planted in little girls and reconfirmed over and over again & they teach us that our value is based on what other people think of us
We learn how to make external validation the most important thing. In our adulthood it manifests as these inner limits that we operate our lives by. We don't recognize that we operate by these limits until we start to push against the limits that have been there the whole time, and we get to choose if we're going to move forward through the pushback or not. That's where this phenomenon called “the crime of outshining” comes into play, and that’s what we’re gonna talk about in this episode.
