Advertisements for Advent calendars are popping up all over the place.
The one that inspired this episode was from a promotional email for a “wine advent box.”
My first thought when I saw it was, “ I would never get everything done that I want to do before everyone shows up for Christmas.”
Which made me ask myself, how do I want to prepare for the Holidays as well as the year ahead?
“Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.”
-Tony Robbins
You would never plant a flower that needs lots of light under a bush.
Yet our hopes and dreams for the future are often buried in the stories, longings, and disappointments of our past.
Afraid we will offend someone.
Disappoint someone.
Let someone down.
This episode gives you an alternative to the traditional “Advent Calendar” with a result at the end. In the process you will learn how to ask the questions to reveal the reason that you hang on to things (and thoughts) when they no longer serve your best version of who you want to be:
I will take you through the Assignment of how to select and evaluate something each day to let go of.
I tell the story of what it meant to let go of a pair of shoes that reminded me of a friend I lost recently. I learned more from the letting go, than the hanging on.
I hope you find the same clarity that I found. Share your a-ha moments in the forum or shoot me a DM if it's something too personal to share with the world yet.
