Deep Thoughts on Shallow Subjects
We kick off 2024 with a movie draft and it felt too easy to go with the 25th Anniversary celebration of movies that came out in 1999. We were originally going to draft 10 movies each but we decided to embrace the weird movies that we wanted to talk about and went to 15. We got derailed several times, especially Troy when he decided to hang around too long on Blast From the Past. Troy immediately regrets picking Entrapment later in the draft and we spend too much time researching the age gap between Sean Connery (The Day is Mine!) and Catherine Zeta-Jones. We let you peek behind the curtain on how early we record some of these episodes that don’t really need updated information as Troy mentions Taylor Swift going to the Bears game from September. The last ten minutes wrap up all of the movies that missed the cut for one reason, or several.
