“Conscientious” “hardworking” “productive” “presentable” “organised” “thorough”. These are words of people who honour God with their work. These are words of people who love others well. Having high standards for ourselves is no bad thing. But what happens when our emotions and our ideas of self-worth are tightly wrapped up in us reaching a particular standard? How do we feel when we hit or when we fail to hit our own particular benchmark? We will be exploring together how these tendencies put cracks into our security and identity in Christ.
