Free 30 Minute Consultation: http://www.highcarbhealth.com/healthsurvey/

At the age of 48, I have had Ulcerative Colitis for over 20 years. I have tried every type of natural remedy and medicines without success. I was on Salofalk granules and anti-inflammatory medications for two years. But it stopped working. The doctors wanted me on Humira, an immunosuppressant medicine to control my disease. I was so upset and thought my body was too tired to fight anymore. But I also knew I didn’t want to start on those strong medicines and all their side effects.

A friend recommended I watch the documentary Forks over Knives. I found it very interesting and it made sense. So I put into Google Forks over knives and Ulcerative Colitis. I came across High Carb Health. After watching many of their testimonies and reading as much as I could about them I decided to have the 30 Minute consultation. It made perfect sense and joined up. This journey is about not only diet but rest, sleep, exercise, how to deal with it mentally.

For me, it wasn’t too hard to do the healing diet, because I had tried so many diets over the years and restricted myself that this was just another one. I suppose the difference with this one is that it may seem extreme to many and you can get worse before you get better. That was quite hard. My hair was falling out, I had boils, I lost a lot of weight, about 12 kilos. I went from 56 kilos to 44 within two months. That was worrying. Eating the same every day for three months was tough, but I didn’t think about it. I adopted the motto, “don’t think, just do”. I knew others had been through this and I knew I could succeed. I cried with delight when I started to heal and saw no more blood in my stool or mucus and had no pain. But I then went through a second wave and this was hard to accept. But it only lasted a couple of weeks and then I was back on track.

The hardest thing was I then developed an anal fissure, which I feel was an injury I got from my last colonoscopy. This set me back weeks and I needed to find the inner strength to keep pushing forward and keep focused that in the end, all will be alright.

Now after nearly 8 months after I started my journey I feel healthy and happy and am starting to exercise and eat almost everything on a plant-based diet. I am so happy I did this. It changed my life.
