There is a “corpse flower” named “Uncle Fester” at Bloedel Conservatory in Vancouver that reeks of rotting flesh when it blooms. Its smell is irresistible to the insects which pollinate it. The ancient church leader, Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians says, God uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. “For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.
