A sermon on the Sunday after the death of Queen Elizabeth the Second, by Canon David Hodgson, Rector of All Saints Wokingham
It is based on the story of Jesus' calming the storm in Matthew Chapter 8. David speaks of how the wisdom and Christian faith we saw in the life and values of Queen Elizabeth which sustained her in good times and bad is an example of the faith and hope all Christians may lay hold of, in the face of seemingly overwhelming threats , such as those posed by the climate emergency. In the face of this overwhelming threat he calls upon all politicians, corporations and investors to follow the example of the late Queen by making a priority of doing the right thing and working with the best interests of all people at heart.
