Description

In today’s devotion, Pastor Balla reflects on Job 40:1–5 (ESV), where Job, confronted with the majesty of God, lays aside his complaints and humbles himself before the Almighty. He no longer contends but listens—recognizing his smallness and God’s greatness.

“Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty?” (Job 40:2, ESV). This piercing question is not only for Job, but for all who struggle with God’s silence or sovereignty. Job’s confession—“I lay my hand on my mouth”—reveals a shift from demanding answers to embracing reverence.

This devotion reminds us that peace comes not through perfect understanding but through trusting the One whose wisdom is perfect. True humility leads not to despair, but to rest in the presence of our gracious and sovereign Lord.
