In today’s devotion, Pastor Balla explores Job 40:6–9 (ESV), where God responds to Job once more out of the whirlwind—not to crush him, but to correct him. Job had questioned God’s justice in light of his suffering. Now, the Lord challenges Job’s assumptions and calls him to consider who truly holds the power, wisdom, and authority.
“Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be in the right?” (Job 40:8, ESV). This question cuts to the heart: in defending ourselves, do we sometimes accuse God of wrongdoing? God’s firm yet gracious challenge to Job invites us to humility and deeper trust.
We are reminded that God’s justice is not measured by our pain, nor His power by our understanding. The One who thunders from the whirlwind remains perfectly just and infinitely wise—even when our circumstances feel confusing.
