Description

In today’s Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla, we reflect on Ecclesiastes 9:7–10, where God’s Word invites us to celebrate the daily gifts He provides. Bread, wine, marriage, work—these are not trivial things, but signs of God’s fatherly care. We are called to receive them with joy, not in self-indulgence, but in grateful faith.

Solomon reminds us that even amid life’s vanity, we are free in Christ to eat with joy, love deeply, dress in peace, and labor with purpose. These daily blessings point to the One who redeems our days under the sun. In Christ, we are clothed in white garments of righteousness and anointed with the oil of gladness.

As Luther teaches in the Catechism, all we have comes from God’s gracious hand. Let today be a celebration—not of fleeting pleasures—but of the enduring gifts God gives for this life and the life to come.
