In today’s Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla, we reflect on Ecclesiastes 9:13–18 and the contrast between quiet wisdom and loud folly. Solomon recounts the story of a poor man who, by wisdom, saved a city—yet was quickly forgotten. His words were not honored, though they were far more powerful than weapons or rulers’ shouts.
This passage points us to Jesus, the very Wisdom of God, who came not in power but in humility—despised and rejected, yet victorious through the cross. His voice still speaks today, not in the noise of worldly acclaim, but through the quiet power of His Word and Sacraments.
We are reminded to seek and value godly wisdom, even when it is quiet or unpopular. In Christ, wisdom is not flashy—but it saves.
