Laura Baxter is a U.S. Citizen originally from the state of Kentucky who is currently working as a Missionary in Honduras. In our conversation, she recounts how her initial idea when coming to Honduras was to help support women victims of sexual abuse who have been subjected to the sex industry, just as she had already done in her native country, the United States. However, she has found herself doing a little bit of everything, where assistance to other Missionaries in Honduras involved in different fields has been a large part of the support she has provided.
In our conversation we discussed her experience as a foreigner in Honduras, the linguistic and cultural contrasts to which she has been exposed, the missionary works in which she has been involved throughout her life in Honduras. The aid that the U.S. Missionaries provide in Honduras involves foster care and orphanages, houses, food and clothing donations for poor people etc.
