In this episode, executive coordinator, Ananya Chawla interviews members from the Vision Lab. We have with us: Principal Investigator, Dr.Enns, Post Doc fellow Dr. Veronica Dudarev, Graduate students: Raymond MacNeil and Manlu Liu as well as lab technician: Jamie Dunkle. The lab focuses on how the human mind selects information. This selectivity is what is meant by attention, which involves a dynamic interplay among biological (neural), experiential (learning), and intentional (goals) factors. Their studies explore how the external world is represented inside and outside of conscious awareness, how perception changes as an individual matures, how specific experiences change what we see, how actions influence perception, and how to design visual displays for aesthetic interest and optimal performance.
