Description

Rolf Gerritsen was born in Indonesia to Dutch parents and raised in Geraldton before completing an honours degree in history at the University of Western Australia a Masters degree at the University of Ghana and a PhD at the Australian National University.

He is currently a professorial fellow at the Alice Springs campus of Charles Darwin University.

His experience includes several years in senior positions in the Territory and Commonwealth public service, including Ministerial Advisor to Chief Minister Clare Martin between 2001-2003, making him well placed to discuss the Territory government and economy.

Rolf takes us on a journey from self-government to today and explains some of the structural issues that have contributed to the economic position the Territory is in now.
