Description

Matthew Kerle is a local boy.

Born and raised in Darwin, Matthew finished school and completed a degree in information technology before spending several years as an IT geek (his words).

But Matt is not your average guy, he is a thinker and is genuinely kind. Those attributes combined with his sense of adventure led him on a trip to Russia where he met a girl who had similar attributes whom he was lucky enough to marry.

After the ban on the live cattle export following the 4Corners program, Matthew decided to become active in politics. He was eventually preselected for the seat of Blain where he went up against Terry Mills. He didn’t expect to win but he gave it a red hot crack.

Amazingly, he beat Terry but he missed out on winning the seat. He lost the two party preferred vote by just 13 votes. In an electorate of 5,000 voters, than was a tough pill to swallow.

With good grace and humour, Matthew takes us on his journey, along the way giving us his views on politics and life.
