Born in Darwin and adopted when she was only six weeks old, Rebecca Campart was raised by her adopted parents in Ludmilla and Nightcliff.
She remembers playing on the Nightcliff foreshore and living a typical carefree lifestyle that so many kids enjoy growing up in the Territory.
After finishing high school and taking a couple of gap years off, Rebecca went off to Melbourne first to study law following in her father’s, Ken Parish’s, footsteps but then changing to journalism at Monash University.
Rebecca then went travelling to South America and Europe before coming back to Darwin and commencing a career in marketing and communications. This is when she met her future husband, Maxime Campart, at the Char restaurant in Darwin.
Rebecca talks about her adventures in England and France, as well as her current role as Communications Coordinator at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. This is Rebecca’s Territory Story.
