Olia Kerle, an only child, was born in Kostroma, a picturesque small town a few hours drive from Moscow.
At the age of twelve, Olia’s family moved to Moscow and she grew up there eventually earning a degree in English. She then started teaching English as a second language.
She met her husband, Darwin born Matt Kerle, on the internet. Matt had been researching a seed bank in Russia and was looking for another person of the same name. It was fate.
Olia eventually came to Darwin and they got married. She’s been in Darwin for nine years and they are raising three young boys. Olia is also completing a Masters degree in teaching.
