Description

Dr Ravi Sandhu and Leon go back a long way…1982 in fact; the year his family migrated to Australia from Malaysia.

Leon met Ravi on his first day in high school and we’ve been friends ever since.

They went to university together, Ravi studied dentistry, Leon did economics and then law. Leon was at Ravi’s wedding in 1995 and Ravi was at Leon’s the following year.

Ravi has two children. His daughter and Leon’s daughter are the same age; his son is in between Leon’s two boys.

Ravi has been Leon’s dentist since he became a dentist. He is as close a friend to Leon as anyone could have.

Last month, Ravi was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer. He was told with no treatment, he’d have 3-6 months to live. The cancer has spread to his liver.

Ravi’s life has been put on hold. He has not been able to work and is undergoing chemotherapy. There are no guarantees.

For anyone over 50 living in Australia, you would know that the government sends out free bowel cancer test kits. Ravi would like to share his story in the hope that it serves as a timely reminder about the importance of doing those tests and saving lives.

This is Ravi’s story. We hope it helps to save lives.
