Chris Tudor was born in England in 1951. His father was originally from Australia and his parents moved back before his second birthday.
Initially living in Broken Hill where his father was an engineer, the family moved to Blackburn where Chris and his older brother spent their formative years.
Chris went on to study economics and then complete a graduate diploma in teaching at Monash University before embarking on a life long career as a ‘chalkie’.
After marrying his wife Jill in 1974, the couple worked for three years before taking off on a round Australia road trip in their Landcruiser ute.
Chris talks about this adventure and his subsequent Asian safari on this first of a two part series.
