Description

Duncan Poulson is the Australian Securities and Investment Commissioner for the Northern Territory. A position he’s held for nearly 20 years. Originally from Tasmania, Duncan finished school before heading to a small town called Ovid in Colorado USA as an exchange student. He returned to Tasmania nine months later and enrolled in an Arts/Law combined degree. Following graduation he headed off to Taiwan on a research project and then did a stint in ASIC before joining the University of Tasmania as an academic. As an academic he travelled to China and Michigan in the US developing collaborative educational programs. He was then offered a position with ASIC in Darwin on a two year contract. He sold it as a short term break to his wife, Cathy, who was initially not keen on the move. Twenty years and two children later, he’s still loving his job and life in the Top End. This is Duncan Poulson’s Territory Story.
