Darren Clark was born and grew up in regional Tasmania. He grew up playing footy and cricket like any other young lad in Tassie did at that time. After school he studied an apprenticeship and ended up being a pastry cook.
Once qualified Darren ended up in Alice Springs for a short stint and although he went away before coming back again Alice and the Territory was now a big part of his life.
Darren has been a business owner in Alice Springs now for more than 20 years, at one stage he owned 3 bakeries in the town.
Having witnessed the escalating crime problems in Alice Springs building over several years, himself being broken into over 40 times, Darren started the Action for Alice Facebook page in 2020 to help local Alice residents keep in touch with what was happening in town. The page is an information source for locals to keep up to date on a daily basis.
Darren agreed to come on the podcast to tell his story and to give us greater insight into how the Alice Springs locals are dealing with the crime wave that is affecting them every day.
This is Darren's Territory Story.
