As always there is a lot to talk about this week as some bizarre events have occurred that need further discussion. A lot of discussion seems to be centred around the police and in particular the commissioner who continues to have rumours surrounding his employment. Sky News broke the story during the week that he was asked to resign from his position although the government have not confirmed one way or the other if this is the case. Instead where left to ponder as The Clash once wrote "will he stay or will he go now".
Each week we speak with Chris Walsh, Editor of the NT Independent online newspaper, about some of the stories making news in the Territory.
This week's stories are:
2. No joke: Chalker on ‘indefinite leave’, not expected to return to Police Commissioner role
4. ‘Private conversations’: Fyles says discussions with Jamie Chalker over contract continue
5. Tarnished Brass - Jamie Chalkers Greatest Hits
6. Zach Rolfe officially sacked by NT Police
7. Cop who lied to police over $200 swindle of ex-partner found guilty, no conviction recorded
8. NT Tourism industry facing steady cancelled bookings due to crime surge: Tourism body
