Description

Steven Klose is a born and bred Territorian. His father, ‘Snow’, is a German Australian and came to the Territory in 1953 on a VSA motorcycle (Steven said he’ll need to confirm the motorcycle). Having spent his whole life in the Territory including hiding under the bed as a four year old during cyclone Tracy, Steven shares his life story. We then meander into politics as Steven has joined the new Territory Alliance Party and is lining himself up to have a tilt at the seat of Johnston, which is set to be contested if Ken Vowles, the sitting member for the ALP, decides to retire before the next election. During this conversation we also talk about the ‘hot’ topic of the public service. We challenge Steve on why it is that politicians continue to treat the public service like a protected species when the private sector has been decimated by the current economic downturn. It is another interesting conversation.
