Description

Today’s guest is the founder of Safi Life, a non-profit dedicated to female advancement in Africa.

Devon Ogden’s focus on devoting her life to how she can help others is remarkable, and she explains it is her daily motivation. She joins me from her home in California, where she somehow finds a way to balance career, motherhood, and running an international nonprofit!

She studied Rwanda for her thesis degree, working with survivors of genocide through theater therapy, and her work spurred a passion for helping women in Africa. The name ‘Safi Life’ came from her collaborator in Africa, an inspiring woman named Safi. The women Safi Life helps become businesswomen, and therefore help shift their communities and culture in a positive direction.

The stories of the people Devon has interacted with really reminded me of just how fortunate we are, and how easy many parts of our daily lives are. Yet all these women Devon mentions are so filled with hope.
