When the Doctor and Ella return to contemporary London, they discover a beguiling mystery inside TFL’s lost property office. Items are being discovered all over the city for owners who appear not to exist: not just bags of groceries but passports that match up to no known citizen. As traces of artron energy begin to steadily build across the underground network, the Doctor suspects that more than just a pickpocket or fraudster is at work. While Ella faces her darkest night at home, the Doctor is left to piece together the mystery of the lost property, and to work out just how it connects with a prominent political activist’s disappearing act on live television. The answer might just prove to be worse than either of them could ever have imagined.
