This is the 4th film in this franchise and comes exactly 30 years after the previous movie. Eddie Murphy returns to the role of “Axel Foley”, a Detroit detective who makes a name for himself in Beverly Hills, California. The films sees Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser & Bronson Pinchot return to their respective roles and are joined by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige & Kevin Bacon. In this film, famed Detroit detective, Axel Foley returns to Beverly Hills after his daughter, a California lawyer, gets in deep on a case involving police & political corruption. This film spent 3 decades in development hell before getting green lit in 2022 and was the first film in the series not under the Paramount studio. Instead, Netflix made the film an exclusive to their streaming service and dropped it on July 3, 2024.
