Guy Ritchie cowrote, produced and directed this war thriller that stars Jake Gyllenhaal & Dar Salim. The movie set during 2018 in the Middle East. After many Middle Eastern soldiers and or refugees join the US Army as interpreters, one is dispatched to a team that is looking for a warehouse that may be holding a explosives cache. The staff Sargent of the group is a little apprehensive about this new interpreter but is put to the ultimate test after routine inspection goes very wrong. This movie was slated for 2021 but due to studio issues and buyouts, the film was released in theaters during the summer of 2023 and then made available on Prime Video in September of the same year. The studio added Ritchie’s name to title to avoid confusion with the 2006 film, “The Convenant”.
