This film was based on the Disney theme park attraction of the same name and is the second film to be released. Eddie Murphy’s 2003 film was panned by critics but has gained a cult following since. This film has a star studded cast which include LaKeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Jamie Lee Curtis & Jarod Leto. In this film, a widowed mother and her young son have moved to dreaded Gracey Manor in Louisiana I hopes to turn into a bed and breakfast but quickly learn that the mansion has some unwanted guests that have their mystery to solve and will soon need help to save both families. This film hit theaters earlier this year and was then released on Disney+ in October. While it didn’t do bad at the box office, it did receive mixed reviews from critics and continued Disney’s recent film downward spiral and unfortunately was released in the beginning stages of the 2023 SAG strike.
