The fifth film in this franchise is also the first to not to have Steven Spielberg or George Lucas involved. This film was cowritten and directed by James Mangold and sees Harrison Ford return as the titular character as well Karen Allen & John Rhys-Davies return. Newcomers include Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Toby Jones, Antonio Bandares & Mads Mikkelsen. In this film, Indy and his goddaughter set out to stop a rouge Nazi group from acquiring an ancient artifact that can change the fabrics of time both past and present. This film was originally slated for a 2019 release but due to rewrites and the COVID-19 pandemic, it saw its release date delayed until July 2023 and then a Disney+ release in December 2023.
