The 5th film in the franchise sees Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne & Ty Simpkins all return to their respective roles. This film also marks the directorial debut of Wilson and serves as a direct sequel to 2013’s “Insidious 2”. Ten years after the events of the second film, Josh Lambert’s life has taken a dramatic turn. His mother has recently passed away and divorced his wife, Renai. His only hope to turn things around is to try to mend his broken relationship with his son, Dalton. However, their relationship is put to the ultimate as test both Dalton and Josh begin having visions & nightmares about the evil from their past. Blumhouse wanted a direct sequel to their main storyline after 3 & 4 were merely prequels. There was even rumors of crossover movie with the “Sinister” franchise but those plans didn’t happen after the the 4th film failed to bring in a decent box office. The future of this franchise remains unknown despite a post credit scene.
